As a minimum business registration requirement and irrespective of your turnover, all non-established businesses wishing to sell goods in Britain must obtain their VAT registration and a “GB” Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number from HMRC.

UK VAT Representation can manage this entire process on your behalf.

How Long Does Registration Take?

Before BREXIT, the application process normally took around 2-3 weeks. However, due to a combination of COVID and increased demand created European organisations requiring registration, it is taking at least eight to ten weeks to complete.

Once your application has been processed, HMRC will issue a VAT Certificate to you. Once we are in possession of the VAT number, the process of arranging your EORI number then takes a matter of minutes to finalise.

Once you have these documents, you can then send exports to mainland Great Britain in your own name.

Deliverables

As part of this process, we will:

  • Register your business with HM Revenue & Customs in the UK
  • Apply for your UK VAT Registration Number on your behalf as your nominated agent.
  • Obtain your “GB” EORI Number, once the VAT number is obtained.
  • Arrange despatch to your European head office.

Optionally, you can then appoint us to act as your fiscal representative for VAT reporting and filing.

Interim Solutions: Indirect Representation

We can also assist you with the provision of an interim solution in the form of acting as your indirect representative, should you need to continue to export to mainland Britain, while you are waiting for your VAT and EORI numbers.
